Near Miss

Keepin' It Real has learned that Real Salt Lake missed out recently (yesterday?) on acquiring a top-notch player from S. America. The player is a wide midfielder/wing. He ended up going to one of the larger clubs in Argentina. From what I gather the main sticking point was $$$, and the MLS's offer for the player was at least $100K lower than the club that won his services. It's unclear if this was a transfer fee issue or one with the players salary.

I will try to review the recent acquisitions of Argentine clubs to determine who this could have been. If you have a guess, let us know.
