As an outgrowth of the efforts to support Marcia Williams fight with Leukemia, a new charity has sprung up with an eye towards more permanent charitable support in the community. This is being coordinated by the same great folks that brought us Soccer Unites Utah which sprung up out of a specific need to support Marcia’s battle.
G.O.A.L.S. for Greatness brings together a collection of efforts, and has the support of several Real Salt Lake players behind it, including Kyle Beckerman, Nat Borchers, Chris Wingert, and the Rimandos (Nick and Jacqui). In addition, RSL assistant coach Jeff Cassar, as well as “friends of Real Salt Lake” the Layton’s and Harper’s are involved in these worthwhile causes.
"IN THE SPIRIT OF CHARITY, THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A SMALL DONATION"
A “prom night” event (PROM NIGHT – AUGUST 16 – LA CAILLE) is already on tap for Nat Borchers’ efforts with the SMA Foundation, and the Rimando’s No More Homeless Pets efforts are also in progress. You can participate in any of these endeavors and keep checking the website for future events.
