Offseason Updates

Here at Keepin' It Real we are dedicated to providing top-notch information about Real Salt Lake. Information that those closest followers of the team will appreciate. In the process, we have chosen to largely ignore discussion on topics that don't directly impact RSL. However, during this offseason we'll do our best to provide you insight to two additional topics:

  • Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) negotiations, and;
  • The 2010 World Cup

I don't expect much on the World Cup newsfront until January (other than the groupings),but here are some articles to get you up to speed on the CBA negotiations:

The Difference Between an American Sports Contract and a European Football Contract: Eric Altshule/MLS Talk

Monday MLS Breakdown: Rhetoric Ensures Truth Remains Pliable In CBA Negotiations: Kyle McCarthy/Goal.com

MLS and its Players: Third Party Ownership? Player and Club Rights Non Existent?: Kartik Krishnaiyer

CBA dispute threatens MLS progress: Chris Nee/Soccerlens.com

CBA Bluster Hurts Process: Jason Davis/Match Fit USA

Other big non-RSL news to watch out for in Major League Soccer? Will Amado Guevara and new Toronto head coach, Preki, kiss and make up? Methinks not.

Of course, we'll also continue to provide you the RSL offseason talk as well, and hope to get some insight soon into what the team will be looking to add over the next couple of months. We may not have updates as frequently as during the season, but we'll definitely be active with information that you are interested in.

And pictures - oh yeah, pictures! I have a number of them from the MLS Cup: pre-game, the game itself, and post-game. I'll share them with you gradually over the next few weeks.
