Pablo Campos traded to RSL

KIR has learned that RSL has made a trade with San Jose for target forward Pablo Campos. RSL sent the 2nd round pick for 2010 obtained from Dallas for defender Kyle Davies. Campos is expected to make an appearance at practice tomorrow with the team.

The Brazilian forward first drew interest from RSL over a year ago when they approached the league about signing the player. They then lost out on the lottery for him this year as he was assigned to San Jose.

Campos has notched 2 goals and 2 assists in his 611 minutes played this season. Campos was a standout in the PDL in the 2007-2008 season when he scored 32 goals in 25 appearances.

This move helps to solidify the RSL lineup with their recent change to a 4-3-3 and the reported addition of Dutch winger Rachid El-Khalifi. Campos provides a target forward to go along with the addition of El-Khalifi who is a “pure” winger in the 4-3-3. The 4-3-3 is often referred to as the “Dutch system” and El-Khalifi is expected to be the prototypical winger. His ability to deliver quality crosses, and now Campos' ability to be the target forward to receive those crosses is something that might have RSL's technical staff salivating.
