The league has approved Clint Mathis wearing the #77 jersey on Saturday versus Columbus in honor of Andy Williams and his wife, Marcia who is in a Seattle hospital recovering from a transplant related to her Leukemia condition that was discovered last summer.
Mathis wore the #77 in the exhibition against Club America last week. He and Andy have reportedly grown close since Clint's return last season, and they were also teammates in 2005 during Clint's first stint with RSL.
No word yet on if Mathis can continue this practice until Andy's return or Marcia's return to health. But it's likely that this will be the case.
