Practice Observations: Wed June 17

Here are a couple of quick thoughts from practice today:
  • I'm doubtful that Findley will play on Saturday. He didn't participate in practice.
  • Andy Williams was at practice and should be available.
  • Trialist/practice participant is reportedly a friend of Ian Joy's and played with him at St. Pauli.
  • On a related note, all future trialists will now be referred to as "friends of Ian's".
  • Team leaving tomorrow (a day early) to get acclimated to the famous humidity that they face in Houston.
  • Team practiced playing in tight quarters to emulate the small field in Houston.
  • Coach Kreis made a prediction that at least one goal will come off of a set piece because of the small field.

Two interesting questions come to mind:

1) Will RSL revert to the 4-4-2 diamond on the narrow pitch at Robertson Field or keep to the 4-3-3 that has shown them success in the last 2 matches?

2) Who will the outside backs be against Houston? Will we see Russell and Beltran? Will Wingert stick after Kreis commented that he liked his effort in LA? Will Ian Joy finally make a return to the lineup?
