Real Salt Lake announced today a contract extension for defender Chris Wingert who was reported to have been unhappy with his current agreement. The extension is through the 2012 season and adds continuity to the core that the team has been trying to build.
The amount of the contract was not announced as expected, however I would guess that this would take him to right around the $100K mark. His experience with the US National Team earlier this year undoubtedly helped his bargaining power.
